Alpine recently launched its' CSR policy, in conjunction with Heart of the City, a registered charity launched in September 2000 by its joint presidents Lord George and The Lord Mayor of the City of London. The aim of our policy is to improve the working environment for our staff, providing additional opportunities for them to share their skills (and develop new skills) with the wider community, and to positively influence the lives of individuals within our wider community.
Why? Essentially this is an extension of Alpine's values. Above and beyond any regulatory requirements, Alpine recognises the importance of managing its social, economic and environmental impacts. Developing a CSR strategy and programme is a manifestation of that.
Why is CSR relevant to Alpine?
Enhance recruitment and retention of talent
Developing staff and team skills at all levels within the business
Promoting work-life balance
An opportunity to build stronger relationships with key local stakeholders
Developing local community
Adding value to client/suppler relationship
Enhance Alpine brand and profile
Improving workforce diversity - and awareness of diversity impacts
Reducing environmental impact
Our focus on ethical and intelligent working means that Alpine were already undertaking various activities relative to CSR, prior to committing to a formal policy, these include:
Our intention is to improve on these foundations. We are in discussions now with local authorities and charities to evaluate how our staff can support some of their activities. Please refer to our website regularly for updates on these, and other, activities.
