Alpine set a target in 2009 to reduce our emissions by 2.5% over the following 12 months. Operating from serviced offices reduces our ability to directly affect overall energy consumption although we actively lobby the building management to undertake more effective measures to reduce energy output through lighting, heating and power and to monitor and implement measures to reduce water consumption. However, our Carbon Disclosure for summer 2010 (done in collaboration with DEFRA) suggests our carbon footprint is 11.02 metric tonnes Co2-e. This is a positive outcome compared to the previous years Carbon Disclosure, where our carbon footprint was measured at 13.7 metric tonnes Co2-e. The GHG Protocol was adhered to in establishing our emissions.
We will continue to undertake positive measures to continue reducing our carbon emissions further over the next 12 month period. During our next Environmental meeting (part of our ongoing commitment to our Environmental policy, accredited to BS EN ISO 14001) a target for the next 12 months will be set and published.
