Alpine Sponsored Diversity and Equality Awards

For the third consecutive year, Alpine were delighted to support the Civil Service Diversity & Equality Awards. With the focus in UK Public Sector on delivering excellent front line services, despite the need for cost cutting, we sponsored Excellence in Service Delivery. Our congratulations go to the winner, The Reasonable Adjustment Specialist Team (RAST) who have just completed the first year of live running. At the awards ceremony on 12^th October, Sir Gus O'Donnell congratulated members of the team which offers and delivers a service to the whole of DWP (100,000+ people). In the first year the small team of five has provided case management for 1,000 individuals and their line managers, helping to remove workplace disadvantages and providing reasonable adjustments efficiently and cost-effectively. Advice has been provided to an additional 2,800 individuals who did not require the full case-management service. Feedback from those using the service has been excellent. This follows years of difficulty for staff and their managers who had to navigate their way around a number of external suppliers and contracts. The new service joins all of these services up behind the scenes so that the member of staff and line manager do not have to waste valuable time - the team negotiates and works with all of the suppliers to get adjustments organised and delivered.

Our sincere congratulations to the Reasonable Adjustment Specialist Team and thanks to the runners up of this Award which, according to the judges, was particularly difficult to evaluate, given the high standard of applications.
