Job Description:

Central government client is seeking a Director of Marketing and Business Development to be responsible for the development and implementation of the overall marketing and communications strategy for the successful delivery of the Agency’s business strategy

 

Key responsibilities:

 

·         To be responsible for the development and implementation of the overall marketing and communications strategy for the successful delivery of the Agency’s business strategy

·         Primary responsibility for developing, agreeing and implementing an overall Agency marketing and communications strategy that encompasses a range of appropriate customer propositions delivered via a wide variety of channels.

·         To prepare, agree and manage the Agency marketing budget, monitoring spend and reporting progress on key performance measures using monthly variance reporting tools.

·         To be responsible for all off line and on line communications within the Agency, both internal and external, directing a transition to increased use of on line media and the creation of a world class corporate website and intranet

·         To direct the requisite research function to ensure that the Agency understands the total market dynamic for UK public sector procurement, facilitating communication with and briefing of relevant stakeholders as appropriate

·         To direct a team of specialists who will become the leading experts in their selected customer sector with a detailed understanding of  their current and future approaches to procuring commoditised goods and services, providing executive level support as required in respect of business opportunities. 

·         To ensure that the proposed supplier analysis methodologies used are fit for purpose, consulting with relevant stakeholders as part of a cross functional project team.

·         Development of marketing plans for each customer sector and product category to complement the overall business plans for each category team

 

Person Spec:

 

·         To be able to demonstrate the full range of Professional Skills for Government competencies.

·         Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and beyond as necessary.

·         Relevant and extensive senior marketing, business and customer development experience in either Government to Government or Business to Business environments

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking
